We are heartbroken to announce the passing of our beloved, Stanley A. Grosvenor. He passed away peacefully on January 10, 2023 at the age of 82.
Stanley was born in Guyana on October 6th, 1940, to Hilton and Irene Grosvenor.
He immigrated to the United States, in the 70’s, where he completed his HVAC training and worked for several well-known institutions such as The Metropolitan Museum of Arts and Columbia University where he retired in 2009.
Stanley enjoyed listening to country music, cooking, fixing cars, refrigerators, radios (anything he can take apart) and was always cracking jokes and playing pranks.
Stanley is preceded in death by his parents Hilton and Irene Grosvenor; brothers Roy Grosvenor, Ralph Grosvenor and Eugene Grosvenor (Vernon).
He is survived by his children (biological and adopted) Cory Grosvenor, Danita, Aritha Adams-Elliott, Caroline Cummings (Ann) & Sharon Fryer; sister Maisie Reece; nieces Irene, Dianne, Norma, Monica, Karen, Rosanne, Margot, Nadine, Uliss, Phylicia, Mareita, Benita; nephews Rickey, Trenton, Bernard, Eugene (Junior) and Clyde, Lyndon, Mario, Godfrey, Glynn, Vernon and so many other family members who love him dearly.
He will be deeply missed by his friends, family and all who knew him.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 15, 2023 from 4:00 p.m. through 8:00 p.m. at Union Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life will take place at 7:00 p.m. Cremation will take place privately.
