Stanley J Paluba, 97, of Bloomfield went to our Lord peacefully on February 14th. Born in Bloomfield, raised in Orange, the son of Polish immigrants, Stanley called Bloomfield home for over 70 years. He graduated from Don Bosco High School and Seton Hall University with a degree in Business. Stanley served in the Army Air Force in WW II as a Radio Operator. After the war, he worked in the Metal Industry and retired from Alcan Aluminum Corp. He was instrumental in selling metal bars that went into making periscopes for nuclear subs, metal tubing for B52 planes, fuel lines, pipe and fittings for nuclear power plants and hypodermic metal tubing for the medical industry. In most recent years, Stanley wrote and contributed stories for the Essex County Senior Citizens Writing Contest. He was a lifelong member of the Knights of Columbus, Council 1178. He was also a member of the American Legion and a former member of the Padre Pio group at Holy Face Monastery. Stanley was the loving husband of the late Ann R Paluba (Zielenski), devoted father of Carolyn Gutkowski (husband Stephen), Lorraine Hangartner, and Maryann Kuhn (husband Blaine). Loving grandfather of Dr. Stacey Gutkowski, Jordan Kuhn (wife Jacquelynn), Brennan and Madison Kuhn, Cathryn Hangartner and Maryanne Kunz. Loving great-grandfather of Alexander Hangartner and Elaina Kunz. Viewing will be Monday, February 20, 2:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. at Levandoski - Grillo Funeral Home, 44 Bay Avenue, Bloomfield. Relatives and Friends are invited to attend the funeral on Tuesday at 9:00 a.m. from the funeral home. The Funeral Mass will follow at St. Valentine Church, Bloomfield at 10:00 AM. Interment will be at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Bloomfield.
