Stefania Leskiw

Stefania (Wychatycky) Leskiw of Frenchtown NJ, entered eternal rest on Saturday, May 20,2023.

Stefania was born on April 28, 1926, in Stara Sil, Ukraine. As a post war immigrate, displaced from Ukraine, she resided in Germany as a refugee. While in Germany she met and married Jaroslaw Leskiw. On August 31, 1949, Stefania, Jaroslaw and daughter, Mary emigrated to the United States. They settled in Newark, NJ where their second daughter, Daria was born.

Stefania worked at General Electric and Burry Biscuit Corp. in Elizabeth NJ for over 22 years.

Stefania was a lifelong member of St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Catholic Church in Newark, NJ

Stefania is predeceased by her husband, Jaroslaw and her son in law Eugene Grybowski. She is survived by her daughters, Mary Grybowski and Daria Kriegl, son in law James Kriegl, Grandchildren, Lisa Miller, Melanie Mertz and her husband Boyd Mertz, Eugene Grybowski and his wife, Sarah Grybowski, Matthew Kriegl, Erica Walton and her husband, Michael Walton, Danielle Kriegl and her fiancé Lance Beamon and Alexis Yeung and her husband, Nelson Yeung. Great grandchildren, Cameron Mertz, Braden, Mertz, Curvin Miller, Kyle Miller, Carter Grybowski, Reid Grybowski, Blake Walton, Connor Walton and Cooper Walton.

The visitation will be held on Friday, June 9, 2023 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Union Funeral Home - Lytwyn & Grillo, 1600 Stuyvesant Avenue, Union.  The Panikhida (prayer service) will take place at 5:30 p.m.

The funeral service will be held on Saturday morning, June 10th at St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Catholic Church, Newark, NJ at 9:30 a.m.

Interment will be at St Andrew Ukrainian Orthodox Cemetery, South Bound Brook, NJ.
