Tamara Towkaniuk

Tamara Towkaniuk passed peacefully into glory on April 15th 2019. She was 97 years old. Tamara was born on April 28th, 1921 to Vladimir and Tatiana Ulimada in Bucharest, Romania. Obeying Gods call, the family immigrated from Eastern Europe to Sao Paulo Brazil when Tamara was 9 years old. She grew up in Brazil and at the age of 20 she met her husband, Damiao Towkaniuk (predeceased)and they were married in 1941. They had three children and Tamara was loving mother to Paulo (predeceased), Romao and Dina Nistorenko. Tamara also leaves a legacy of nine grandchildren and eight great- grandchildren In 1962, the family immigrated to the United States settling in New Jersey. During this time she faithfully took care of her family as well as her parents as they aged. She later moved to California and then Florida before returning to NJ. Tamara had a talent for crocheting and needlepointing and often contributed her work to senior citizen organizations. She had a love for opera music and old movies. Tamara most of all was known for her kind and compassionate spirit. She led a simple life; she loved God and she loved people. She will be dearly missed by all those knew her.
