Teresa Furelli

Teresa (Porco) Furelli passed away peacefully at 92 years old in the early-morning hours of Friday, May 10th, 2024. Born on October 18, 1931, in Amantea, Italy, Teresa had a storied life, enduring World War II as a teenager and shortly after venturing through Venezuela and America with her soulmate, Alberto Furelli. Together, they brought into the world two daughters, Luisa Guido and Franca Piperato who emulate their mother’s strength, warmth and love of family.

Teresa’s faith was also immovable and guided her seamless ability to embrace everyone she met. In reuniting with her parents, her brother, Vincenzo Porco, her husband and the many dear friends who have passed before her, Teresa is survived by her siblings, Ida, Francesco, Rosetta; her daughters and their husbands, Joe and Beniamino; three grandchildren, Antonio Guido, Dominique Pagan and Francesca Piperato; five great-grandchildren, Jayden, Mia, AJ, Genevieve and Mateo and all those who have grown to know her simply as “Nonna” or “Mamma T”. She will always be remembered by many for her warmth and hospitality.

Those wishing to bid Teresa farewell can join the family for viewing hours at Levandoski-Grillo Funeral Home located at 44 Bay Ave, Bloomfield, NJ 07003 on Tuesday May 14, 2024, from 4:00PM-8:00PM.

A funeral mass will be held at Holy Family Church located at 28 Brookline Avenue in Nutley, New Jersey on Wednesday May 15, 2024 at 9:30 a.m.   Mausoleum Entombment to follow at Glendale Cemetery, Bloomfield.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks you to consider making a donation to The Padre Pio Foundation of America ( https://padrepio.com ) in honor of Teresa, who was devoted to Padre Pio and his work.
