Theresa M. Hosonitz

Theresa Marcella Hosonitz (née McNamara) passed away peacefully on July 10, 2024, at the age of 95, in East Hanover, New Jersey.  Visitation will be on Sunday, July 14, 2024 from 2-6 p.m. at Union Funeral Home - Lytwyn & Grillo, 1600 Stuyvesant Avenue, Union, N.J.  Services begin on Monday, July 15 at 9 a.m. at the funeral home.  A Prayer Service will be offered at 10 a.m. with burial following at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover, N.J.  Memories and condolences may be shared at unionfuneralhome.com.

Born on November 6, 1928, Theresa dedicated many years of service to the telephone company before her well-earned retirement.

Theresa was a devout member of The House of Mercy Mission in Newark, NJ, where she worshiped, volunteered, and found great solace in her faith.

She leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories with her family. Theresa is survived by her five children, Michael (Gayle), Patricia (Rod), Katherine (Rocco), Stephen (Renee), and Andrew (Eileen); seven grandchildren, Jason (Kelly), Jessica (Barak), Olivia (Joshua), Abigail, Laura, Daniel, and Deven; and seven great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind her sisters, Mary, Kathleen, and Elizabeth, as well as many nieces and nephews who held a special place in her heart.

Theresa was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Frank; her sisters, Gertrude and Geraldine; and her brother, Bill.

Her life was marked by her unwavering dedication to her Lord Jesus, and her family, making her a cherished figure to all who knew her. Theresa's kindness and spirit will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by her family, friends, and community.
