Thomas C. Grillo, 96 of Lyndhurst, entered into eternal rest on January 31st at the New Jersey Veterans Memorial Home, Paramus. Born February 13, 1921 in the Marion Section of Jersey City to the late Salvatore & Bessie (nee: Pranio) Grillo, he moved to Lyndhurst in 1947 and resided there until 2015. He was a proud US Army Air Corp Veteran, serving in England during WWII (1942-1945) as a Military Policeman in the 1139th Company. After the war, he began a long career as a Machinist for T. Shriver & Company in Harrison where he assembled large filter presses. Thomas was a 4th degree member of the Knights of Columbus and recently received an award for being a member for 50 years. He was also a member of the Holy Name Society of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Lyndhurst. He is preceded in death by his cherished wife, Rose (nee: Schifano), his siblings; Vita Juliano, Charles Grillo & Joseph Grillo. He is the beloved father of Thomas, Jr., & the late Deborah A., & Ronald & his wife Theresa, loving grandfather of Kimberly Bianchi & her husband Anthony, Jennifer Grillo, Ronald Grillo, Jr., & his wife, Denise & Gia Grillo, proud great-grandfather of Anthony, Jr. & Isabella Bianchi & Luca & Layla Grillo. He is also survived by his sisters, Joan Bradley & Ana Grillo & many cousins and friends. Visitation will be held on Friday, February 2nd from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Levandoski-Grillo Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 44 Bay Ave., Bloomfield, NJ (Additional parking located on Broughton Avenue). Relatives and Friends are invited to attend the Funeral on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at the Funeral Home. A Catholic Funeral Service will begin at 11:30 a.m. Mausoleum Entombment will follow at Holy Cross Chapel Mausoleum, North Arlington.
