Tony Camilli

Tony Camilli of Bloomfield passed away on Saturday August 30, 2014 at the age of 95. He was born in Newark, lived in Springfield before moving to Bloomfield five years ago. Visitation hours are 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 p.m. on Wednesday at Levandoski Funeral Home, 44 Bay Avenue, Bloomfield. Please visit www.levandoskifuneralhome.com for directions and on-line condolences. Tony's funeral service will begin at 9:30 a.m. Thursday morning at the funeral home. The Funeral Mass will begin at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Family Church, 28 Brookline Avenue, Nutley. Interment will follow at Glendale Cemetery, Bloomfield. Tony was predeceased by his siblings, Carmina Fritz, Christine Fancera, Margaret Renner and Louise Avella; a nephew Tom Russomano. Surviving are a niece, Linda Cascione and nephews Marty and Sam Fancera, Jr., Dan Russomano, John Avella and Matthew Fritz. As a young adult, Tony was a circus hand for Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus. In later years, Tony was a private chauffer in New York City for several celebrities. He then owned his own business, Big Pine Landscaping, in Springfield for 25 years before going to work for Daughters of Israel in West Orange as the transportation coordinator for 10 years prior to his retirement in 1994. Tony was an avid Yankee baseball fan, he played the harmonica, loved to sing Italian songs and enjoyed his 95 years as a bachelor with many friends and family.
