Mrs. Valentina (Val) Brzezinski (nee Kalucki) of St. Albans, Maine formerlly of Bloomfield passed away on January 24, 2011. Visiting will be at Levandoski Funeral Home 44 Bay Avenue Bloomfield on Sunday January 30, hours are 4pm to 7pm. The funeral will begin at the funeral home on Monday morning at 9am. The funeral mass will be in Saint Valentine Church at 10am. Interment to follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Val was the beloved wife of the late Anthony Wysocki and the late Joseph Brzezinski. She was the loving Mother of Valerie M. Scamman (David) and Anthony S. Wysocki (Judy). Sister of the late Lillian Mergelsberg and the late Stephen Kalucki. Grandmother of Daniel, Kenneth, Dawn, Victoria, Anthony J., Kerianne and Michael. Also survived by 13 greatgrandchildren. Val was a graduate of Fairleigh Dickinson University (1958-1962). Her working career spanned many years as a registered nurse. She worked at St. Vincents Hospital, Passaic General and Clara Maass Medical Center. She retired in 1975. Very active in the community , memberships include St. Valentine Church Parish Council Blood Bank, organized the first Brownie and Girl Scout Troops of St. Valentine. She was past vice-president and past president of Unit 448 of the American Legion Auxilliary Post Honor Guard., County Historian, and past vice-president of Essex County American Legion. Member of the 8140 La Boutique DesHuit Chapeaux et Quarante Femmes. Past president Polish Mothers Club and member of St. Valentine Church Altar Rosary Sodality. She also was a member of the Polish Alliance Mother/Daughter Club of Nutley and a charter member of Columbiettes Council 1178.
