Vina Walters Jackson

Vina Walters Jackson, “Aunt Vina,” of Claremont, Hanover, Jamaica, passed away on Sunday, June 2, 2024, in New Jersey.  She was 79 years old when she made her transition.

She was born on February 14, 1945, to Emanuel and Rosa Walters, who have preceded her in death.  She attended the Claremont All Age School, and later went on to develop her technical skills in Home Economics which later became the means of earning an income.

She married Asley Jackson in 1997, and they eventually moved to their residence in Lilliput, St. James, where they raised their family.  She was the matriarch of her family.  Her home was her pride and joy, and she created a place of comfort and beauty where both family and friends were always welcome.

For those who knew her, she was a friendly and cheerful person whose presence left a lasting and memorable memory.  She was a wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend.

She migrated to the United States in 2013 to be with her son, and resided in East Orange, New Jersey during her time here.

A celebration of her life will take place on Saturday, June 29, 2024 at 10:00 AM at Union Funeral Home - Lytwyn & Grillo, 1600 Stuyvesant Avenue, Union, New Jersey.  Interment follows at Rosedale Cemetery, Montclair, New Jersey.

She is survived by her husband, Asley; four sons, Lenin, Derrick, Bayon, and Andre; two daughters, Annette and Claudia; 17 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.
