Walter Wolowodiuk of Canton, MA passed away on January 8, 2018, at the age of 89. Born on October 28, 1929 in Iwachiw, Ukraine, Walter was the son of the late Dmytro Wolowodiuk and Julia Wolowodiuk (nee Bilsky). Walter was a long-time resident of Chatham Township, NJ. He spent the majority of his professional career at Foster Wheeler Energy Corporation in Livingston, NJ. He was employed there for 40 years, retiring as the Senior Vice President of the Research Division. Walter was very active the in Plast Ukrainian Scouting Organization, where, in 1951, he received the highest distinction for his efforts on rebuilding Plast in the USA. In 1999, his work was again formally recognized, as Leonid Kuchma granted him the Presidential Medal, for active work in multiple organizations of the Ukrainian diaspora and assistance to Ukraine. Walter is survived by his wife of 60 years, Katrusia, daughters Vera Wolowodiuk with her husband Jeff Chodakewitz, and Christa Kozak with her husband Andrij, grandchildren, Nadia and Evan Byrnes and Katia and Damian Kozak, and brother, Jaroslaw Wolowodiuk.
