On October 26, 2015, Winfield G. Scott entered into eternal rest at the age of 95. Winfield (Big Roebie) was born on November 27, 1920 in Bloomfield, NJ to his late mother, Lillian Lee Scott. As a young boy, he was highly driven to find ways to make money helping neighbors, doing chores or selling newspapers. You name it-he did it. That passion led him into the music industry where he became a member of a group name The Cues and his solo stage name, Roebie Kirk. He became a writer for Elvis Presley, LaVern Baker, Connie Francis and a host of others. Around the year 1957 in the city of Newark, he met the love of his life, Daisy Tarver-a seamstress. From their union, they had one son, Roebie Winfield. Big Roebie is highly known for his love of cooking, jazz music, fishing, chess playing, German shepherds, Cadillacs, pick-its, scratch off and sharp dressing. He lived by his famous phrase "The Best of the Best". Big Roebie is preceded in death by his loving wife, Daisy Scott and younger brother, Joseph Scott. He leaves behind his only son, Roebie Scott of Union, NJ. Three granddaughters; Andrea, Pamela and Keira of Newark, NJ Three great-grandchildren; Aminah, Alexa and Jihad. Two sister-n-laws; Emma Tarver of Newark, NJ, Lillian Tarver of Irvington, NJ and a host of relatives and friends.
