Yolanda Miceli

Yolanda "Yi" Miceli, 88, of Bayonne, NJ formerly of Jersey City peacefully passed away on Friday November 10, 2017. Known for her amazing cooking skills, legendary meatballs and savvy card playing, she will be missed by all who knew her. Born Yolanda Pellagatti to Angelina and Frank Pellagatti in 1929, she was a sister to 9 siblings. Yi lived on Eighth St. in Jersey City for most of her life and enjoyed playing cards with "the girls". Yolanda was predeceased by her parents, 7 siblings and her husband, James Miceli. She is survived by her sister and brother-in-law Priscilla and Richard Ciandella and brother Joseph Pellagatti as well as her son Michael DeRocckis and daughter-in-law Irene DeRocckis of Shrewsbury and son Benjamin Miceli of Bayonne; her grandchildren Michele Appel, Michael DeRocckis and James Miceli and great-grandchildren Carina, Caitlin, Amelia, Madelyn and Brody; many nieces and nephews and extended family including Denise Vitale with whom she shared a special bond. In accordance with her wishes, there will not be any formal services. Instead please honor her by continuing her tradition of Sunday dinners with gravy and meatballs. She will be dearly missed.
