Yolanda Scafidi

Yolanda Scafidi, 78 of Jersey City, entered into eternal life on January 14, 2022 at Jersey City Medical Center. Born in Jersey City to the late Rosario Scafidi & Rose (nee: Baione), she was a graduate of Ferris High School and a life long downtown Jersey City resident. Yolanda was legally blind for many years. Together with her brother Frank, who himself was mentally disabled, they would both be seen walking Newark Avenue, shopping or going to Church. Frankie was her eyes and she his mind. Unfortunately, last year they had to be separated as Yolanda’s health declined. Frank found a new family at a group home in South Jersey and is doing very well. Yolanda is survived by her Holy Rosary Church family, who through the generosity of parishioners will have a Funeral & Burial on Wednesday, January 19th. Viewing will take place in church at 9:30 a.m. a Funeral Mass to be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Rosary Church, 344 Sixth Street, Jersey City. Burial will follow at Holy Name Cemetery, Jersey City.
