Yvonne Francine Wharton

Yvonne Wharton, 51 of Kearny, entered into eternal rest on October 16, 2020 at Clara Maass Medical Center. Born in Kearny, she was a lifelong resident. A graduate of Kearny High School (1986), she later attained her Nursing degree from Kean University. She worked with St. Barnabas Hospice in Livingston and most recently was a Medical Record Reviewer for Exam Works in Roseland, NJ. Yvonne enjoyed the simple things in life, she loved Country Music, Elvis Presley, the Yankees, the beauty of butterflies, the serenity of the beach, the comedy of Seinfeld & the satisfaction of ordering from Q.V.C. She also devoted much of her Sunday’s to teaching Religious Education at St. Cecilia Church, Kearny. She is the beloved daughter of Roger & Maureen (nee: Olenik) Wharton, loving mother of Gabriel Roger, cherished sister of Heather Sexton (husband Bill), Natalie Wharton & Loretta Price, loving companion of Bill Griffin. She is also survived by her grandmother, Joan Degnan, Aunts & Uncles; Joseph Olenik, Michael & Frances Olenik, Dorothy Wharton Latham many cousins and dear friends. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 21, 2020 from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Armitage & Wiggins Funeral Home, 596 Belgrove Drive, Kearny, NJ. Relatives and Friends are invited to attend the funeral on Thursday morning at 9:00 a.m. at the Funeral Home, thence to St. Cecilia Church, Kearny for a Funeral Mass to begin at 10:00 a.m. Cremation will follow privately. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital in her memory.
