Zdzislaw J Zielinski

Zdzislaw Zielinski, 81, died peacefully on December 2, 2023, at his home in Bloomfield, NJ.

Born in Bedziemysl, Poland, on January 23, 1942 and immigrated to the United States in 1988 where he began working at a butcher shop in Newark. In 1990 he became a caretaker/maintenance worker at the Essex Manor in Bloomfield.

Predeceased by his parents Tomasz Zielinski and Paulina Zielinska and siblings Juzef Byk, Maria Byk, and Jan Zielinski. He is survived by his loving wife Alicja Zielinska and was a devoted father to his four daughters, Renata Wasik and her husband Mieczyslaw, Marta Kurzeja and her husband Bogdan, Malgorzata Krason and her husband Slawomir and Barbara Zielinska.

Also surviving are his brothers, Czeslaw, Mieczyslaw, Stanislaw, Andzej, Juzef and sisters, Machalina Blusza, Janina Migala, Grazyna Trojan and many nieces and nephews. Mr. Zielinski was the devoted grandfather to Piotr and Darek Wasik, Elzbieta Kania, Natalia Gac, Klaudia Zieba, Eliasz and Sandra Krason and Liam Reilly. Great grandchildren are Lena Gac, Luiza Kania and Cezary Zieba.

After his retirement in 2007, Mr. Zielinski became an avid gardener, and he took much pride in the vegetables and flowers he produced. Always hard working and a master of many trades he kept busy with projects around the house. He was also an excellent cook, not only for Polish cuisine but Italian cuisine as well. A favorite dish was his sausage and peppers.

Throughout his life, he worked hard to support and provide for his family and was very generous with his time and talent; he would offer a lending hand not only to his friends but to anyone in need. His most notable characteristic was his big, loving heart and the belief that everyone deserved a second chance.

The many happy memories of his life are his legacy, and he will always be remembered and missed by his wife, daughters, grandchildren/great grandchildren, nieces, siblings, nephews and friends.

Visitation on Wednesday, December 6, 2023 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Levandoski-Grillo Funeral Home, 44 Bay Ave., Bloomfield, NJ.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, December 7, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Clare Church, 69 Allwood Road, Clifton, NJ.   Mass will be in Polish.  Burial will follow at Glendale Cemetery, Bloomfield.
